This Week On Treasure Island Oldies

This week on Treasure Island Oldies
Week of October 11th to 24th, 2009

It was great to have our Chat Room back up and running after many weeks of the server being down. I was glad to welcome back all the regular "Nuts in the Hut", and the joint sure was rockin'. Once again, my thanks to Bruce Toews from Toews On The Waves for 'bailing us out' these past weeks with his generous offer for us to use his show's chat room until ours was repaired. So many folks commented that the chat room is such a great addition and enhancement to the live show. Try it out for yourself some Sunday night between 6 and 10 pm Pacific time, 9 pm to 1 am Eastern. I am sure you'll have a great time too. To log into the Chat Room, click Chat on the Menu and just follow the instructions.

Mark your calendar for next week for our 13th Annual Halloween Spooktacular. Our fearless webmaster, Eddy Fisher,  has been digging deep down into the Crypt to make it ready and scary. You can get a little preview of the Crypt by clicking on the Halloween Spooktacular graphic on the left side of every page of the website. He'll unlock the door to the Crypt in time for the Halloween Spooktacular. Listen if you dare!

Once again his week, I have been connecting with some very cool folks on Facebook including Eric Burdon from The Animals, broadcaster and hugely talented voiceover guy Don Berns (you may have seen him as the 'game show' host on the recent Pizza Hut TV commercials), regular listener and Nut in the Hut, Caroline Congdon in Fargo, North Dakota, and so many others. It would be great to connect with you too. Just click the Facebook link on any page of the website. I look forward to seeing you on Facebook.

The Treasure Island Oldies Blog gets you in the mood for next week's 13th Annual Halloween Spooktacular with Creedence Clearwater Revival and their fantastic version of the classic I Put A Spell On You, originally recorded by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. Enjoy!

There will be no Voice Your Choice next week nor any of our regular features on the Halloween Spooktacular. Everything returns in its usual spot in two weeks.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Mike Dillon in 100 Mile House, British Columbia. It was great to send best wishes his way and also to play his request, Time In A Bottle by Jim Croce. My thanks as well to everyone in the Chat Room and to the many listeners who sent emails or e-cards to wish yours truly Happy Birthday. I appreciate it very much. And if you have a birthday coming up or someone special to you has the big event soon, please let me know. Send the name, city, country, and birthday details to me by email. The address is michael@treasureislandoldies.com. I'll be pleased to say hi and play Birthday by The Beatles for you or that special someone.

Our Listener Galley still has room for more photos of listeners. Send your picture, name, city and country to michael@treasureislandoldies.com I look forward to including you in the Listener Gallery.

Have a great week.

Bye for now.

Michael
