Marvin Hamlisch Has Died

He was one singular musical sensation.

Marvin Hamlisch, who composed some of the most famous scores of our time - including for the film The Sting and Broadway show A Chorus Line - has died in Los Angeles. He was 68.

Family spokesman Jason Lee says Hamlisch died Monday after a brief illness, reports AP. Other details aren't being released.

Hamlisch's career included composing, conducting and arranging music from Broadway to Hollywood. His movies included The Way We Were and Sophie's Choice. He won three Academy Awards, four Emmys and a Tony.
