This Week on Treasure Island Oldies - Week of March 4th, 2018

March 4th to 10th, 2018

This week we spotlighted the year 1967, and whoa! what feedback I received already about just how great the music of 1967 was and how good it was to hear so many songs from the same year. Thanks very much for your comments. That was the whole reason to start this new Spotlight Year feature on the show. And I am also pleased with your thoughts I've been getting regarding the introduction of the new Vinyl 45 feature. This week I played Niki Hokey by P.J. Proby on a Liberty Records 45. So cool!

Mark your calendar for our next special, the One Hit Wonders, live Sunday, March 18th starting at 6 pm Pacific time, and at various times throughout the week on the Broadcast Partners Network affiliate stations. If you've not heard this annual special, you'll be surprised with just how many hits there were by artists who appeared on the charts one time only. Looking forward to your company for this Special.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Roy Geldart in Campbell River, British Columbia. Is your birthday approaching? If so, please me know by sending the date to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com. I'll wish you Happy Birthday on the show and also play Birthday by The Beatles for you.

The Top Five Countdown this week is from 1967, this week's Spotlight Year. The Number One song is by The Rolling Stones. Ruby Tuesday is playing at the Treasure Island Oldies Treasure Island Oldies Blog.

Next week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice presents one of the first teen idols, Ricky Nelson. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either Everlovin' or I Got A Feeling. I'll play the winning song on next week's show.

Here's this week's Rock and Roll News Podcast.

Looking forward to your company for next week's show. Take care.

Bye for now.

Michael
