This Week on Treasure Island Oldies - Week of March 11th, 2018

March 11th to 17th, 2018

Welcome to this week's Island Update. This week we featured "timely" songs in recognition of moving our clocks forward by one hour. It was fun to play songs such as Time Of The Season, Time In A Bottle, In The Midnight Hour, Time Has Come Today, 24 Hours From Tulsa, and so many more. We also spotlighted the year 1963 throughout the show and for this week's Top Five Countdown. I played My Boyfriend's Back, Hello Stranger, Blue Velvet, Drip Drop, So Much In Love, The Night Has A Thousand Eyes, Falling, and other great hits from 1963. For this week's Delicious Vinyl 45 I played Where Do You Go by Cher from 1965. I continue to enjoy hearing from you with your thoughts and comments on the show, so please keep it up. Get in touch by sending an email to michael@treasureislandoldies.com.

The next special, the One Hit Wonders, will be live next Sunday, March 18th starting at 6 pm Pacific time, and at various times throughout the week on the Broadcast Partners Network affiliate stations. If you've not heard this annual special, you'll be surprised with just how many hits there were by artists who appeared on the charts with great songs one time only. Looking forward to your company for this Special.

Is your birthday approaching? If so, please me know by sending the date to birthdays@treasureislandoldies.com. I'll wish you Happy Birthday on the show and also play Birthday by The Beatles for you.

The Top Five Countdown this week is from 1963, this week's Spotlight Year. The Number One song is by The Four Seasons. Walk Like A Man is playing at the Treasure Island Oldies Treasure Island Oldies Blog.

Next week on Treasure Island Oldies, Voice Your Choice presents the very entertaining Roger Miller. Cast your vote at the Voice Your Choice page for either England Swings or Dang Me. I'll play the winning song on next week's show.

Here's this week's Rock and Roll News Podcast.

Looking forward to your company for next week's One Hit Wonders Special.

Bye for now.

Michael
